DLC items from DLC you do not own will have a red cross with DLC through it, infamous items you need to unlock have a red cross with a card on them. There are 6 tabs in the Mask purchase screen (default does not appear, but are the first slot in the inventory when selecting the mask tab) Community, Normal, DLC, Event, Collaboration, and Infamous.Īny masks not possessed will be shown greyed out, with the exception of the Event tab which does not appear if no Event masks are owned or no Event masks can be obtained by achievements, and will not display masks you do not own, except for achievement masks. Magenta items are "Infamous" (rare) items.
White items are dropped from cards, with some exceptions.Additional slots can be bought for $800,000 (up to 72 slots).

Even if you leave any of the 3 slots empty, you won't be able to fill it later.Įach player is only given a specific amount of mask slots, but masks can be sold or returned to free up a mask slot. You will not be able to customize it any further once you have finalized it. Card masks can only be used once, however granted masks can be re-used by sending the mask back to your inventory (you will lose any colors and non-achievement patterns and materials though).

Masks in PAYDAY 2 are either randomly given by the 'pick a card' screen at the end of each heist or are unlocked and granted to the player for free for completing certain achievements, joining the community group, or reaching a new level of infamy. A custom mask consists of a color scheme, a pattern, and a material. In PAYDAY 2, players can customize masks to personalize their character. (For example, if you get a black chest, spawn a red chest instead.Examples of mask customization in PAYDAY 2. If you want, replace brown chests with blue chests, or just turn every chest you see into one of lower quality. This forces you to get low quality guns and focus on skill rather than RNG. Instead, whenever you encounter a chest, spawn a brown chest instead. You are not allowed to interact or shoot ANY of the chests that are generated within the game. This one is probably the hardest out of the three. (There are broken combos with this build such as light gun shooting a crap ton of homing ducks, so be mindful if you want a challenge.) This makes your bullets do low damage and go EVERYWHERE, providing more of an AoE attack than anything. Blinding Bullets (Can lag/crash the game!) (Make sure to equip the bandanas first, or the klobbe won't get the boost in extra ammo!)Ģ. This offers a low damage build that makes killing bosses extremely difficult. No other guns are allowed, but passives and actives are fine. Start off with convict, 3 ancient hero's bandanas, one muscle relaxant, and the Klobbe.

I've noticed that people get bored with this game very quickly after beating it, so I've decided to quickly tell some of my favorite "challenge" builds to give myself using Mod the Gungeon to make the game more difficult.
